Summary: The Business Analyst is a crucial role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between Business needs and Technology delivery. This position is responsible for analysis, research, development, testing, installation, and functional, technical and support documentation & training. Provide third level technical support to end users and I.S. support staff in resolution of store hardware and software problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.

Assists in the preparation of Statement of Work (SOW) and proposals by determining the time and cost estimates for system development and implementation.

Acts as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially with regard to design, problem diagnosis and resolution

Participates in problem definition and analysis.

Assists with creating presentations.

Gathers and analyzes about application needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements based on customer data or requests that improves the organization's operating efficiencies and costs.

Creates information data flow diagrams or storyboards for new product features and functions.

Designs and develops high-level functional requirements for new development, enhancements and systems integration of products and services. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.

Transforms functional requirements into system specifications by writing clear and concise business requirements documents.

Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.

Tests the product or service and provides the programmer/developer with feedback prior to the product being tested by the business partner.

Participates to become the team subject matter expert pertaining to application functionality and coordinates with business partners when more outside information is needed.

Consults and coordinates with Enterprise Sytems managers, architects and programmers analysts to design and develop automated business systems.

Develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development, integration and quality assurance testing.

Consults with business unit management and personnel to obtain additional information during system development and evaluate alternatives.

Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.

Monitors and documents post-implementation problems.

Catalyst for sizing of project efforts. Gathers necessary information of time and cost estimates for completing projects per prescribed processes.
